the new year is winding along, and we have a host of news that we would like to tell you about. For example, have you ever heard about Blue Competence? It’s an initiative both advancing sustainability for companies in mechanical and plant engineering, and introducing sustainable solutions to the industry. As environmental concerns are an important topic for us, this initiative fits well with us; therefore, we would like to contribute our part, which is why we are partner of the VDMA sustainability initiative. A weekend for grinding and experts and those who want to become one – that was the grinding conference in Stuttgart-Fellbach in February. The expert conference included an exhibition where all 12 companies could present their products and services. Mr. Sascha Frenzel gave a speech, focusing especially on grinding with MQL in the automotive sector – a real benefit. Here you can find some impressions from the conference.
The year is moving on for us as well with trade fairs and conferences around the world. In Asia for example we conduct a roadshow with our partners Blaser and Mapal. Then there’s the FEIMEC in Brazil, the SIMTOS in Korea, the ITM in Poland and the IMTS in Chicago. And everywhere, one thing is in the limelight: the new 1-channel system.

| China is an exciting market, not just for automotive producers. In the meantime, a plant environment in China as well is reviewed from the perspective of environmental protection, energy efficiency and conservation of resources. New drive technologies are not only being discussed, but realized – which is opening up new opportunities in this market. A good reason for Ringier Events to organize a workshop in Suzhou in November 2017 covering new production methods of motor components. 170 participants could enjoy a number of presentations and discuss the topics. The paper of Dr. Michael Hager, Director Business Unit Lubrication, on minimum quantity lubrication in the automotive industry was well-received. Afterwards, the main topics for discussion were the reduced waste generation, the significantly lower consumption of water as well as the reduction of energy consumption in combination with higher productivity. |

| For us it is a matter of course to present our plastic welding systems to our expert audience around the world. So, we were exhibitors at the Interplastica in Moscow in January, and in February at the Plastindia in Gandhinagar-Ahmedabad. We hope it will go on in this style – our next aim is the NPE in Orlando in May, and before that, you can meet us at the Chinaplas in Shanghai in April. As manifold as the places are the topics we address: from medicine and interior up to automation and machining we represent all industry areas. In Poland at the ITM, the international exhibition for innovations, technologies and machines, we will present our first shared stand in the history of our company.
